<p>Retiring Swarthmore President Al Bloom has accepted the position of Vice Chancellor of NYU, in charge of the university's new NYU Abu Dhabi campus.</p>
<p>It will consist of a college of liberal arts with an eventual enrollment of 2000 plus 800 grad students. The government of Abu Dhabi is building a new campus as part of a major planned development on an island in the harbor, where the new Guggenheim Museum will also be located.</p>
<p>The campus is expected to accept its first class for the fall of 2010. Bloom assumes full-time duties in Abu Dhabi in August.</p>
