Fricking thanks teenage_cliche! And as I’ve said… I think I can handle it and still have a life. I’m good at managing time. And don’t judge me lolz… I know what I’m doing. I play tennis, ukulele, scholastic bowl, ping-pong, and baseball. These are my real killers on time… But I love them so I still do them.

Uh… colleges I have applied to don’t ask for AP scores with the app. So no, I am not wrong. Sorry if the truth hurts, but self-studying That many APs is indeed a bad idea. That is advice, do what you want with it. For the record, I am a senior who is applying to college, so I should know. You’re AP scores are NOT taken into consideration for admission and they DO get sent on their own. I suppose you could send them at the same time as your app, but it’s not a joint thing.

All right bud.

It’s true.

And buddy, you’re not going to be using all of those AP scores, anyway. Just by looking at your determination to do that many APs, I can assume you’re going to be applying to some high-end university. Those universities, in case you didn’t know, aren’t going to give you credit for stuff like AP Human Geo, AP SIKE, etc.

I highly doubt that if you want a 4 or 5 on all those AP tests. There’s freaking no way you can handle studying for all of those tests, all the classes you have now, and participate in all the ECs that you have. You’d have to be some freaking Asian kid who won the spelling bee to do that.

You’re self-studying ten APs?

That’s $860!

860$? What if I get credit for even one of the tests? That would more than pay for itself in college tuition.

Let me quote something I said earlier.

Get rid of the useless APs you’re taking. Take APs that correlate to your intended area of study. And note that high-end universities won’t give you credit for a lot of the AP tests you’ll be taking.

But my point still stands how you are definitely overworking yourself. You’re not some freaking Asian kid who won the spelling bee. You’re a kid who’s trying to outperform other applicants on an impossible scale. If you really want to outperform your opponents, get committed to your ECs. One of your posts implied to me that you didn’t really care about them.

A 3 is terrible btw.
Also, the fact that you have 10 APs to finish in junior year is a testament to the lack of rigor in the previous years.

Whatever nubs.

^

Ignorant, stubborn. That describes you. I can tell that you’re not going to be getting 4s or 5s on all of these APs. You’re just going to be wasting your parents’ $840 sack of money.

And APs don’t distinguish you from other applicants. Not everyone has AP classes offered to begin with. Sure, APs show rigor in your schedule. But you also show rigor in your high school life by being the best at a certain EC.

Why can’t I get 4 or 5’s on every one? And I know not everyone has AP classes. I don’t have them myself. I’m doing the best with what I have. And I am the best at some of my favorite EC’s. That has nothing to do with this. You’re acting like this is going to take up all of my time… It hasn’t so far and I’m making progress.

It doesn’t take up ALL of your time, but it will take up a large portion of it.

You are not going to do it. Period.

We are all going to find a new thread around July called “10 1’s…■■■”

Then, we will all laugh at you like the useless grease that you are.

i don’t even care, because you’re going to fail and ruin your life.

Have fun.

There are really arrogant people who try to take 10 AP CLASSES. Minimal extracurriculars, minimal social life, no other classes, and most STILL end up dropping some classes 6 weeks in.

It doesn’t matter how smart or how dedicated you are. You will not self-study 10 APs on top of regular classes, social activities, and extracurriculars. In fact, you probably could barely manage it even if you never had to sleep at all.

I’m not saying that you shouldn’t self-study for APs, especially if you have none offered at your school. I’m just saying that you look like an arrogant and stubborn bigot by self-studying for ten of them. That’s just idiocy. I KNOW you’re not going to get a 4 or 5 on all of them. Especially with the tests that you learn the material best by having the actual class. I also KNOW that you’re not going to be able to keep up with your ECs. Come on. Let’s face reality here. If self-studying ten APs was that simple for overachieving people like you, wouldn’t the masses of people from this forum be doing the same thing?

Lol it IS possible. Just detrimental to your other activities if they take too long.
Some of those only take a week of studying btw.
Your list is actually only around 3-5 APs.

Ok Ok, we will see.

Guys let him do everything he wants. Let him take 10 APs. Honestly, you’ve given him advice, and he chooses to disregard it. Let him think his ECs are enough. He’s not going to listen to you guys.

Good luck applying.

All right here’s my plan… I’m not going to take English Language (thanks for the advice) or Chemistry (I’ve since learned that my chemistry teacher isn’t really going to teach me anything). So:

1) World History: Unit-by-unit run-through of Barron’s over the course of 8 months or whatever. I also have my brother’s textbook, so if I study this closely enough I should be able to do well. Plus, I took World History last year.

2) US History: I’m taking a dual-credit class for this now, and honestly it’s pretty tough. That class and Barron’s should be able to do it for me.

3) Spanish: This is going to be tough. I have a few spanish books though, so I’m planning on reading through them. Barron’s looks pretty helpful. It has a few newspaper online links that have audio clips. Finally, I’m taking Spanish IV right now and that should help a lot.

4) Environmental Science: I’ve heard that a few run-throughs of Barron’s and its practice test should be sufficient. I have a few internet resources, as well. I don’t plan to start preparation until January.

5) Psychology: I’m taking a semester of psychology in the spring, when I plan to start preparation. That class, in conjunction with Barron’s and an old textbook that I have should be work out nicely

6) English Literature and Language: This is my favorite subject, and my British Literature class should really help me out. I will have to analyze several novels, so that will help for essays. Finally, my own reading and of course Barron’s should do the trick.

7) Human Geography: I’ve been told that a couple run-throughs of Barron’s should do the trick. Also, not going to start studying until January.

8) Biology: This will probably be pretty tough, but upon looking through Barron’s, I see that I’ve retained quite a bit of information from my biology class last year, which was pretty comprehensive. I have a textbook as well. This will be a grind, but I think I can handle it.

Biology=Read cliffs.
Psychology-Read barrons.
Envsci-Read PR
Human Geo-Read PR

It should only take 1 week for each of those.
