I know Swarthmore has a Discover Swarthmore program that covers your travel expenses to the school for a weekend. Are any other schools doing that this year?

My son got a free trip to Amherst last year. There were two weekends in late September and Late October, the application went out in early-mid summer and was due back sometime in August.

That sounds great! Do you know what program it was and where I could find information about it? Thanks!

When I was accepted, Columbia was willing to Pay for me to visit. MIT paid for me to go to CPW.

Cool! Thanks!

I have heard of this too. I can’t remember which ones I’ve seen offer this, but I’ll try to think about that and see if I can remember and let you know.

Thank you! And btw, I love piano too haha.

Are you looking for programs/weekends for accepted students? Because a bunch of schools have those.

If you are looking for a program for a prospective student, I know Middlebury has a Discover Middlebury weekend in the fall. Discover Swarthmore is only for “Asian, Black, Latino/a, and Native American high school seniors”, but Discover Middlebury is for “African American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian American, and American Indian students; students (regardless of ethnicity) with demonstrated financial hardship; and students who are first in their families to pursue a four-year college education”.

Are you a URM?

The Amherst College program is DIVOH, which is has the same applicant requirements as Middlebury does.

Yes I’m Asian. And I just got the amherst letter today so I’ll be applying for that as well. I’m looking at trips for prospective students, not so much accepted students. Thanks!
