"All orientation sessions are currently full"

I’m very unfamiliar with how colleges work, so please bear with my question. I was going to sign up for orientation for Cal Poly Pomona as an accepted Graphic Design major, but this is the message that I got:

“All orientation sessions are currently full.”

It then told me to phone the given number, but I’ll have to wait until Monday to do that. In the meantime, I’ve sent an e-mail to the orientation office to ask about this situation. I tend to worry excessively, so I’m going to ask if anyone here has ever experienced something like this, and what I should expect. I was told that if I don’t attend orientation, I won’t be able to enroll for classes, and that scares me. So please, if there’s anyone out there who has been in this situation before, please tell me what I should expect and what I should do!

Same boat, here.

They obviously need to accommodate all their students, so something has to be done.

if you don’t register for orientation by the due date then you may not be able to attend the university. Give them a call and see whats up.

sorry for the late reply, but thanks to those who answered! I called during my teacher assistant class period on Monday, and luckily there was a spot open for the first set of dates for Graphic Design orientation. Glad to get that out of the way! PuaPua, I wish you the best of luck in getting an orientation date!

Thanks! I just called and they said they’re working on creating new dates because lots of students still haven’t registered.
