I’m def looking forward to the half time show. I believe Rihanna’s first live show in a while. She will bring it! Will there be any musical surprise guests?
Not sure on SB food. Will just be H and I and we will be getting the kitchen ready/emptied on Sunday for a light refresh starting on Monday…so if I cook it will have to be simple. Right now I’m thinking about chicken wings and/or something “buffalo spicy” - but H won’t eat that so we’ll see.
I’ll root for the Eagles only in honor of my 105 year old Uncle, a die hard Eagles fan. Otherwise no skin in the game and won’t really be WATCHING but will be in the room with the game, LOL!
Until you posted, @abasket, I didn’t know the SB was in AZ. And I live here. I guess that says how much I pay attention to pro ball. If Michigan isn’t playing, we don’t watch. Just another Sunday here. I’ll catch the commercials online later.
I’ll tune in at the start of the halftime show. If it’s good, I’ll watch it. If not…off the TV will go. Well…DH might watch the game.
The Kelce brothers graduated from my high school (LONG after I did). Our school is all over this…actually lighted up the front of the school with colors from both teams. Love that! They are great people and come back to the school often.
We are having pork and sauerkraut, choc chip cookies, and a cake shaped/decorated like a football field. The cake dates back to when my kids were small and thought the Super Bowl was something fabulous so there needed to be cake.
The game itself tends to disappoint, but the ads are fun. I saw that Jason Kelce (Philly) and his wife are bringing her OB with her to the game as she is due with their 3rd child in a couple weeks and they didn’t want to take any chances. Lol.
Philly is like a second home to us these days so… GO BIRDS!! Wings and sliders are on the menu. I think we might need a cake now too. Love that tradition @greenbutton!
One year, they built and actual stadium around it, with legos. We’ve also had games where we eat the yard line they are on at any given moment, lordy.
My DiL sent me a photo yesterday of her proposed Eagle cake (actually an eagle) and the kids far away are also making a football field cake. Parents always feel so grateful when this stuff carries forward!
Mahomes is a special talent, but he’s not 100%, and that Philly pass rush is nasty. the Eagles probably are going to own the line of scrimmage – in the end, most games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage. The Chiefs will need big plays, and win the turnover battle, to win this game.
We have been attending the SB party our friends put on each year for more than 25 years. They always heat their pool for the party so people can swim. We have a SB pool for $1 dollar a square that pays off quarterly. I’m making buffalo chicken dip and chocolate chip cookies. We are not rooting for any team, but I’m looking forward to the halftime show. Also one of my D’s friends has a new baby and I’m excited to meet him at the party.
Super Bowl is a cruel disappointment for our household this year…H was cheering for the Bills, I was cheering for the Bengals. H is a Buffalo native, Joe Burrow played ball for my high school. This year we will be all about the snacks, commercials and Rihanna.
We live in Philadelphia and it is a huge event! We always host the SB. Somehow we will squeeze 15 or more people into our rowhome.
We are making a roasted pork, which we will shred and serve with sharp provolone, broccoli rabe, and Sarcone’s hoagie rolls. I’ll make brownies and have some desserts from Isgro’s bakery. Friends will bring the snacky food. Probably and antipasto and some stuff from a Mexican store in the Italian Market (homemade tortilla chips, salsa, and guacamole).
We have friends coming in from NYC who lived in Philly and are big fans.
We are all so excited. Jason Kelce is my favorite player but love the entire team this year and the Coach.
If we win everyone will walk up to Broad Street again for the celebration. (lots of greased polls for people to climb, lol;))
The City still has the metal barriers up from the New Year’s Day parade, just in case.
I’m rooting for the Eagles since it’s more fun to root for somebody! Husband will be making hoagies for us, which has become a Super Bowl tradition. Enjoy the game!
We don’t root for either team, but one of our closest friends loves Philly so we will cheer for them. We invited him over to see the game, but he wants to watch it alone so he can focus, ha.
My H is from Kansas City, and that’s where all his family live (we used to but don’t anymore).
My friends in the area have been wearing red every Friday for the Chiefs. And I’ve seen several mention on Facebook they’re making 3-2-1 dip (3 8-oz packages Cream Cheese, 2 10-oz cans of Rotel, and 1 lb of sausage) on Sunday.
