Already have a BS in Geography, want to do Environmental Engineering

I'm about to graduate with a BS in Geography w/ a focus on Water Resources and a minor in Geology. However, most of the Water Resources jobs are for Engineers. What are my options? I'm kina stressing out. I have a 3.50 GPA but haven't taken Calculus or Physics in college.

Perhaps you could do a masters in environmental engineering?

A MS in Environmental Engineering is one option. You will probably need math through Differential Equations as well as one year of Calc-based Physics to enter such a program. The disadvantage to this is that Environmental is a discipline where a PE license is very helpful, and a lot of states require a 4-year Engineering degree in order to pursue this. Earning a BS in Env. Eng. might be more useful.

As for job opportunities, have you checked with your department/school regarding positions for someone with your background?

Wouldn’t a minor in geology require some physics?

In any case, you probably need to find a school willing to accept you for a second bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering (or the closely related civil engineering), since you will need start from the beginning with calculus and physics (you will need to take most of a bachelor’s degree in course work before doing a master’s degree, and it is easy to find ABET accredited bachelor’s degree programs than master’s degree programs).

Have you looked into a MS in GIS with a focus on watershed/hydrology?
