Alright, Regular Decision Applicants...

Are you supposed to receive an email from chicago informing you that your application has been received?

Anyway, I'm quite nervous. I absolutely LOVE Chicago and as a result didn't even apply for financial aid since they're not needblind for internationals. We can afford it without financial aid, of course, but if I get accepted somewhere else (an ivy etc.) with considerable aid, I might not be able to go to Chicago, accepted or not.

yes, you'll get some type of notification

I did email Chicago saying I sent in my app Baker Island time and not my time - so yeah it must be fine I guess.

Btw now (past the deadline everywhere in the world) the online app won't work will it?

You are allowed to view your application, but you can't edit it.

Ugh, this waiting will kill me. Just had an interview today and it was great. Chicago is definitely my first choice, and I think it's my perfect match, but who knows these days. I applied also to Barnard, McGill, NU, and UMich.

Good luck everyone! Everyone who posts here should get in...I wish.

haha, although i checked the whole site of chicago, i accidentally missed the fact that the admissions deadline is the 2nd of jan, thought it was the 1st! oooh, we people know how to make our life hell, don't we?...

and yeah, because i was in such a hurry i wrote "maths invalid" because that's how it's in Bulgarian. Yesterday, when I decided to reread my essay (why??), I realized that this word is not used anymore in English....

i'll also say GOOD LUCK, SLEEP WELL- if we are admitted to Chicago, I'm sure we'll need those accumulated hours of sleep!

nirmala - where r u from? (dat name dont sound bulgarian sista ...)

i also applied, but my interview went horrible.... and chicago also happens to be a reach school for me...

I dont think I will get in... but will apply as transfer next year

I'm from Stara Zagora. And Nirmala surely is not my real name, sis! where are you from?

and 420, I can't understand you, does anyone consider UChicago for a safetie???

Maybe those insane people with perfect scores, perfect essays, and, well, no life (?) who discover some method for dating alligator teeth. Me, I only WISH I had that much time. Crossing my fingers that I'll get in, but wishing only gets you so far, I guess.

Now, we wait...

hey nirmala, sorry about that, haha (maybe ur a bro instead ...) i have a friend from bulgaria here in the US

I think it is possible for some people to consider it a match, but a safety? I shudder at the thought.

This kid from our school last year said it was his safety AFTER he got in, so he was obviously boasting.

Frankly, I don't think UChicago can be anyone's safety - it's freakin 9th in the nation!

chicago loses bunch of ppl from ivies but i don't think chicago can be one's safety

lala, no need to say sorry.

does that BG friend of yours applies to Chicago?

(btw i am a sis.)

no, he's not applying to chicago

Chicago a SAFETY? ARGH! What's wrong with you people?!

I think my U Chicago essay was the best of all my essays. I started the app before my common app essays, way back when I could actually write a normal essay. After writing several hundred of these, all I'm doing is writing a bunch of regurgitated phrases I've used in past essays... And I managed to submit mine on the 26th of December! Whereas all my other apps were submitted really close to the deadlines (like minutes...)

But yeah, Chicago is first choice!

i <3333 chicago. i only wished that i applied early.

as for chicago being a match or reach.. i think it's a reach for anyone because the pool is self-selective.
