-I know my e.c.'s aren't very focused right now but I am going to work hard to get them focused next year. If you do not believe I am qualified please leave some advice as to how I could better qualify myself! (improve my transcripts and e.c.'s and what not)

-Please chance me and thanks for your time!

for some reason nobody chances me…haha

i would appreciate a chance or two haha

Well I’m not too qualified to answer this, since I’m only a junior in HS, but I’ll give it a try. I just visited Cornell, and they actually have a lotttt of transfer students, so I would consider there (if you like the cold of course). You’re ECs seem very good, and I’m sure you good right a good essay. Schreyer’s is widely considered to be a great honors program. Penn has a 10 percent transfer admissions’ rate, which would probably be a reach (but I have a good friend with similar ECs who is trying to transfer there as well). JHU seems like a match as well, having read through some other CC profiles of transfers to there. Hope this helps at all. Goood luck!

Thanks this help a lot!

You look like a strong candidate. I am a parent, but familiar with the transfer process since I transferred myself in the ice age. Your college grades and essays will be very important. Did you apply to any of the schools last time round? If so, sell yourself hard to them and be sure to make contact with the admissions rep for your region. Tell them that you really want to attend XX Univ and tell them why. For your school list, it’s a tough one-- very competitive. I gather you want to attend a large school? Michigan, Uchicago, CAL Berkeley and Northwestern have strong chem majors. Many LACs have great chem depts, so you might want to consider them as well. I suggest you focus on science related ECs, and work in a lab, volunteer as a chem tutor at a local school, etc. don’t spread yourself too thin, be focused and keep up those grades. Good luck!

I actually did not. I chose PSU because I did not know what I wanted to study and its close to home. After taking some gen eds I figured out what I wanted to study. My major at PSU in simple terms is a mixture of energy economics and energy engineering so I am not to sure if chemistry would be as good as a route as physics or economics courses. Either way I am a tutor at the writing center and my e.c.'s are going to be much more focused next year. (attending conferences, and doing research) Thanks for the advice it means a lot!

a couple more chances would be appreciated

Thanks for the chance

Your app seems very strong. Honestly you should have no problem getting in. The only tough thing is that it is a transfer but it seems youve proven yourself in college so odds are in your favor in my opinion.
