am i applicable?

Hi
I was wondering if you could help me out in telling me whether I am applicable to be considered a GS student.

I graduated from a American highschool in Pakistan in 2009. Though I excelled in studies, getting a 4.0 accum gpa and being in a lot of extra curriculars, I was brought up in a harmful and dangerous surrounding(Pakistan, my home country). Also, though my father can provide to me and my family with complete luxury, he does not work. He has a chronic eye problem which disables him to work, and thus I have had to step in the boots. Since graduating from highschool in 2009, I have been working in a textile mill in Pakistan as a Yarn Procurement Manager. Even though i can work in my uncles business, the chances for upward mobility in textiles is more. So, with all these factors in note- am i applicable to apply to GS as a nontraditional student?

Yes you are.

so, being a pakistani national, will columbia university give out student f1 visa to its columbia school of general studies accepted students?

Yes. No matter where you are coming from, the school will issue an I-20, which is a certificate of visa eligibility after you submit all the financial documents. You take it to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate and get a visa. It is not a bad idea to talk to immigration attorneys and apply as early as possible.

when do the columbia GS applications start?
