My roommates are unreasonable people. They just want the temp up to be able to walk around in under garments. I’m tired of sacrificing for two people who make twice as much as I do. They can afford to purchase their own stuff. Day in and day out they walk in with shopping bags. To make matters worse Roommate A, was late with her payment and she is the cause for the high electric bill. I know that I cannot control how people spend their cash but geez! It is relatively warm throughout the day 15-20 C our apartment stays at about room temp 22 C with the heat completely off. To me it is fine, but if they can walk around practically naked then it is too cold!
I can only take so much off…
@iwannabe_Brown I see where you are going, but the logic is not there with these girls. That would cause a heated argument. I would love to make them feel the burn of cranking up the heat, but that will not happen. They can’t even budget for space heaters, and our rental agreement has okayed them! The bill is in my name and they may try to skip out on paying for the higher heat costs. As far as the actual agreement, that is the main reason for my disgust, a real compromise would have been 23 C, but they claim the heater turns off below 24 C (I don’t buy it, but I do not argue with ppl who think they are correct when the world know otherwise).
Oh yeah, I was hoping it wasn’t in your name.
Since space heaters are allowed then I do think Earl’s suggestion of just buying them is probably best. They can move it with them from room to room if they want too. Obviously they should be the ones to buy them but he’s right that if you can get them to use it, it’s the best solution, and you’re most likely to get them to use them if you handle all the effort and cost of acquiring them.
Your other option if it’s really bad, is to find a new place and sublet your current room (assuming that’s allowed) until your lease is over.
