In my Eco exam, i and my friend both finished the test and was about to stand up and turn it in, then my friend asked me about how I did the test and how I did on a question. I didn't hear it clearly so he point into his test and I looked at it. My teacher saw that and we now both recieved an email from our advisor about academic Dishonest. Right now, I am really scare and confuse!!!
I don't know what to do. And my friend said, he didn't want to fix the answer. He just want to asked was it go well and then turn the paper in right away
Please help me!!!!

This is a serious situation. To be found guilty of academic dishonesty can have many negative consequences from a zero on the test up to suspension from school. The problem you have is that from where the instructor was sitting you and your friend’s actions looked very suspicious. Never discuss an exam with anyone untill after you have turned it in and left the classroom.

Your best chance for saving yourself is to go to your instructor and explain exactly what happened and that you neither solicited nor gave any assistance on the exam and it was your friend who initiated the incident. Your friend may not be happy with you but it was his really foolish action that has put your academic future in jeopardy.

If it was just one question and a lapse of judgement then it should be no big deal. If both tests have a lot of similarities then watch out. BTW is this high school or college?

It not only looks suspicious, but some schools/colleges tend to be so harsh with their honor codes that what you and you friend did may constitute an honor violation in its own right and be considered cheating.

While there’s a possibility you can discuss your case successfully, I would be prepared to be regarded with extreme suspicion and the possibility of being found guilty of cheating by the teacher/school.

In any event, for future reference…when in an exam situation, never initiate or respond to chit-chat from fellow classmates unless you’ve turned in the exam and left the room/area where the test is held.
