Hello, I am posting tonight looking for help concerning a particular job of interest and believe you all could give me the information I'm looking for. I recently graduated with a Bachelors in Economics from one of the top universities in my state (# 6-7 I believe but not a top tier university). I have research experience and I am also proficient with a lot of the software that they use (SAS, Stata, Matlab and also SQL, Excel, Access, etc.) I performed well in my major courses (Econometrics included where I received an A and as expected it was very rigorous). I also had two pretty good LORs written from me. The only thing is I think my gpa may be a little too low to receive a serious look from the bank (nothing terrible but not a 3.5+). I also have internship and full-time work experience (analytical) within the financial industry if that would count for anything. So could anyone tell me how competitive this job is, if I stand any chance to even get an interview, and if gpa and school prestige play the biggest part in landing them?
