Am I considered an international student as far as financial aid is concerned?

I know that most colleges in the states are need-aware for international students, obviously hurting their chances of admittance if they are applying for financial aid.
I am a US citizen (also have French citizenship) but I did my last 2 years of high school in Greece (in an American high school) and graduated from there. Am I considered an 'international' student as far as financial aid is concerned?
Thanks for any help! (:

No, you’re an American. You’re NOT an int’l as far as FA is concerned.

However, some schools put the school applications from students like you in the int’l pile for some odd reason.

Since you are graduating from a US style international school, your application will be read by the admissions officer who is expert on those schools. If you were coming from a local Greek school, it would most likely be read by the officer most familiar with Greek schools.

As for aid, you are a domestic applicant which is a very, very good thing!

You will be eligible for school aid and federal FA but will probably be considered out of state for all public Us.

Many schools are need aware for all US citizens, portfolios aren’t what they used to be :(.

And honestly, all the schools that don’t meet need only barely count as need blind; getting an offer of admission that you can’t afford to accept doesn’t really help you.
