Am I crazy? Engineer Advice

Hello everyone,

I am a Senior in Civil Engineering, This coming fall semester I will have a course load of 18 credits. A lot of course, on top of this I will be continuing my internship that I had over the summer for just 1 day a week for 8 hours. On top of this I recently talked to a professor that seems interested in giving me a research position for minimal time of about 8 to 12 hours a week. All my classes are Senior/Junior level classes (with the exception of Intro to Thermodynamics), however none of these classes have labs so my total class time each week would be about 15 hours.
Does this seem possible or am I killing myself? I would really like to do the research because it seems interesting and would look great on a resume.

Any advice is appreciated, thank you in advance.

I also remember a separate question I had. The professor that I am applying for a research position asked for my resume. Would I put in my objective statement something like “Seeking a research position…” or keep it how it normally is “seeking a entry level position…”?

It’s possible, but I wouldn’t. In my opinion, the answer to your 2nd question should dictate how you manage your time. Are you interested in research or working in industry?
