i am a white male from northern va and go to a highly competitive school in the area. i got some nice ec's and good grades/sats. My problem; however, is how competitive my class is compared to others below and above me. just to give you an example of how much more talented my class is than the one below mine is that approximately 175 kids got into NHS as opposed to 75 or so from the class below mine. So, basically, my question is, will colleges that i apply to take this into consideration at admission time and such, or is it just tough **** for me. any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks

i just wanna add that im in the top 15% or so of my class, but would be in aobut top 2-3% if i were in class above or below the one i am in now

Don't worry about the kids in your class. Your credentials should tell the story.

Try having 15 people tied for valedictorian with a perfect 5.0 GPA. ;)

dude you sound like me.
this year we have two vals for the first time ever in the 50 year history of our school. 73 ppl have gotten at least one 800 on an SAT II, and 53 have gotten at least one 800 on SAT I sections. We have 52 NMSF, as opposed to 32 last year. gawd...but apparently this year's senior class isn't that smart nationwide...according to SAT scores...

We probably have 100 or so NMSF. My grade is insane.
