Am I going blind?

We are working on this issue. Don't despair! :)

I'm glad you're working on it - I was afraid you thought it was an "improvement" :)

Well, I'm okay with the font size, and I have to say that I really like the menu being on the side; its saves a lot of flipping thru the back button to get to another menu. I've actually been wishing they'd do that.

Wasn't it too small when the new format came in this fall, didn't we complain, and didn't they enlarge it? Or am I hving memory as well as eye trouble in my dotage?

It's wierd, I had the little font at home this AM, when I got to work, the font was back to normal, but the sidebars are pushed up to the top of the page with a huge, full screen size blank space next to them. Central blind spot.

Roger:

somehow I don't see much difference in font...

well bb, I think it IS larger than yesterday evening. It was tee-tiny , as Gmother would have said. A lot closer to normal today. Now the screen is just wonky or to be more computer literate ,"katty-wampus" (see, I know those fancy technical computer terms, too). I get the giant void on the left and have to scroll to read posts.

I also liked the first "Darren" better.

Cur, on my computer, the need for scrolling has remained the same. There is also little change for the "void". Before the void was blue and CC appeared as a smaller window on my screen. Now CC uses almost all the space.

I'm sure that after a while we will get used to the "improvements". While I do not like changes, I can see that the navigation links on the left side will become helpful. I hated the changes from the old board to the new one, but now I could not imagine going back. A part of me feels like Helen Keller after her parents rearranged the furniture in the house: I cuss at them, but after a few days I see the merits of the new arrangement.

I have a feeling that the giant void will be filled with added information and more helpful links. The left side of our screen could become a trusted friend, if we let it grown on us.

That said, I LIKE big fonts and hated the look of last night. As usual Roger is listening and is always TRYING to make the site better, which requires the occasional tweaking and fumbling in the dark.

OK, the fonts should be back to normal. Also, once again, they are RESIZABLE, which means that you can change them with your browser text size settings. We're looking into the scroll thing for those with older, low-res monitors. (If you are experiencing a need for side-scroll and your monitor is less than 5 years old, you might want to check to see if your screen resolution is set at a low number; in Windows, right click the Desktop and choose Properties, then the Settings tab - you may find you are operating at a lower than optimal screen resolution.)

Roger the side scroll thing just happened for a blink really. Now I don't have to scroll right to read posts. After last night and my eyes adjusting to Lillipution fonts, these fonts today are gargantuan and bold fonts, manly men fonts.

AHAH! I do though still have to scroll to see the full screen-the blue material that fills the void and the entire post.

I like the side menu...one or two less click and screen loads for me. Back when I was on the dial-up that would have really helped a lot.

I was starting to like it - felt like I'd walked in front of one of those funny mirrors at the carnival. It's sooo wide.

Thanks Cur, for bringing this to Roger's attention so quickly, nice to have the Texas-sozed fonts back again this morning :)

TTmom, good point about the dial-up, I work occasionally in a location with only dial-up- argh, hate it, spoiled rotten by DSL, but the less clicks the better, could save mintues!

Is there some way I can see both the left and right sides of the screen? I can "cut off" either side, but can't see both sides at once. (Sorry to be so computer illiterate)

lkf, is the side-scroll issue better now?

you can make the size of the text bigger by...(You need a mouse with a page scroller [i think this is what it is called] in the middle) holding Ctrl and rolling the page scroller...For mine if you hold Ctrl and scroll toward you the text gets bigger.

Yes Rodger, it is! I didn't even notice at first, but it's perfect now! Thanks!
