Am I in a good position to transfer to a Top 20 ?

I am currently in university in Canada, in my second year (1st year of a different program). Due to personal circumstances II Didn’t do great so far, but recently got on track to improving all my courses which I didn’t do well in. currently have a 4.0 this term and on track to making up all my marks. If I am successful in that I will have a 4.0 average by the end of next year.

High school marks weren’t bad, not great either… I’d say my average was somewhere in the low to mid 70’s.

I am very interested in pursuing Investment Banking as a career but have no chance in that field at my current institution. Not really looking to apply to an Ivy but am wanting to apply as a transfer to schools like NYU, U of M, Duke, etc.

What are my chances with the information I have given here, and what should I do to improve my odds?

anyone?

Duke is already more selective than some Ivies for freshman admissions but its transfer acceptance rate is even lower. If you don’t think you’re qualified to be admitted to an Ivy, you’re probably not qualified to be admitted to Duke either.

UM should be more doable. NYU is very expensive and has notoriously poor financial aid so you should take that into consideration before applying.

What else should I get on my resume to give me a better shot other than simply getting good grades? I have faith that I will be able to keep the grades up but don’t have much worth mentioning in the EC department as of now
