Am I old for graduate studies if I think it will enhance my career ?

Hello there
Greetings

I'm 34 years old, having bachelor in electrical engineering 11 years ago and an 11 years experience as a telecom engineer.
My dream since I graduete is to continue my graduate studies but unfortunately I was refused to continue in my univeristy because of my grade ( good ) and in my country tha opportunities is very narrow , I mean they accept a very few number of poeple to graduate studies.

Now, after 11 years of earning money, I'm able to continue my Master degree of telecom engineering in USA. But my worst concerns and worries is my age. I feel that if I resign from my company and complete my master then come back to my home country , no body will look to me and may be they consider me an expired engineer .

I want your opinions please
Thanks

Sorry if this is not the right section to post this thread

I get the impression that you are working in your home country now (Saudi Arabia), want to come to the US for a graduate degree, then go back home to work.

I don’t think there are many people on this board who can comment on the job situation for engineers in your country and how a US degree would be viewed. I think another question is how much value the graduate degree would really add now that you have 11 years of experience in the same field.

Is there specific coursework in a graduate program that you think will make you a better/more valuable engineer? Are there assignments (or higher pay) that you know you are not getting because you don’t have a graduate degree? Are there people you know in your country that have taken a similar path and improved their job situation?

I assume it is not an option to come to the US on a student visa of some kind, then stay here to work after graduation. Because that would be a good way to bridge this gap, and go back home with a graduate degree and some extra work experience.

Thank you very much intparent
