Am I Qualified for BC (Early Action)

Hi,
I am currently a junior in a boarding school in NH (international student)
I plan to apply Economics or IR not computer science or medical school or sciences
My concern is that I didn’t take any APs in my junior year and I did not repeat like other asians often do to get more classes (i am thai)

Junior classes (second year in us)

  1. Precalculus Honors (BC)
  2. Physics Honors
  3. U.S. History Honors
  4. Comparative Politics
  5. Literature of the American Dream
    GPA: 3.5

Senior class (will be taken next year)

  1. AP Calculus BC
  2. AP European History
  3. AP Physics
  4. The Anti-Hero in Literature
  5. (and something)

ACT: 29
I plan to do SAT US history and Math1

What are you asking? You want to apply EA to college? You are a junior, you have a long time to go before considering that. Not all colleges have EA. What is BC? If you didn’t take AP classes, the you didn’t take them. You can’t fix that. When the time comes, apply to colleges that are within your stats, (your grades and test scores.) You have plenty of time to retake ACT. Not sure what advice you are looking for.

Is it typical in your school to only take 5 classes/year, instead of 6? What is your GPA, and are you planning on taking the ACT again in the spring?

Maybe, but I quite satisfy with 29 (I don’t think I can raise it up), because I will not apply ivies.
BC is Boston College
Yes, only 5 courses

A 29 is the 25th percentile for admitted students at BC. BC is a reach.

Why are you satisfied with a 29? You have a little under a year to raise it 2-3 points – and consequently land yourself in the 50th percentile of scores.

this should be on the chance page.

Your well paid boarding school counselors should answer this for you.

They said I defienely will go to BU but I want to go somewhere better

With a 29 ACT you may end up in BU CGS.

I don’t even think BU needs this high tho

@THKUABKK BU’s average ACT is a 31 and their average GPA is a 3.6, both of which could possibly rise even more by next year. I would strongly suggest, if anything, to raise your test scores.
