I just got my grades for fall semester - 3.8 (at Cornell).

I was hoping for a 4.0, but I ended up getting a B+ (3.3) in one of my classes instead of an A-!!!! I thought that wouldn't happen because of extra credit that I did, and it's being appealed, but I'm unsure that will do any good.
I have good boards - 2250/2400, 1510/1600, 770 and 760 on SAT IIS (chemistry and math respectively).

Still, I'm worried the B+ will screw me.

Any feedback is appreciated, and happy holidays to everyone.

Cornell is just as a good of a school as yale. Is there any reason you want to transfer?

Yes; there's no cognitive science major at Cornell, but there is one at Yale.

Regardless of that, do you think the B+ will matter?

Pretty much nobody gets accepted at Yale as a transfer, right? I heard only about 17 kids make it per year?

Actually, they admit about 30, or as their website advertises, between 20 - 35 each year out 700 - 800.
Naturally, this year should be about the same.
Regardless, your post was very unhelpful. Would you have advised those 30 admits the same way you advised me?

If the above is addressed towards me, I intended no offense. I'm just asking because I know the figure is low and I know someone who wants to transfer from Northwestern. It's tough, but apparently possible.

Lol, I love how every thread turns into some kind of Hamilton/Burr argument. My apologies for any percieved wrong.

Last year I think the number was 40 out of 700. It is very difficult but not impossible. I don't think straight A's or all A's and one B+ will make a difference. I think it will be how you make your case for wanting to be at Yale. It will be difficult regardless because of the small number they accept.

Sorry, bmwdan. And don't worry, I won't shoot you (I'm a Hamiltonian, you see). Thanks for the input, guys, I do have a good reason to transfer currently, we'll see if it works out.

Best of luck, OP. Show them you love Yale, and you'll win them to your cause (:
