AMA Resident Honors Program Graduating Senior '17

Title.

I had just turned 16yo when I started college at USC, coming from an expensive private school in Palo Alto with 3.98UW GPA. I took Calculus BC in freshman year of HS and scored a 5.

Once in college - freshman year I majored in Neuroscience and aced Freshman Science Honors classes (FSH), as well as Thematic Option classes (was on the pre-med track like my two doctor parents). National Merit Finalist award bumped my automatic Dean’s scholarship to Presidential. Uninterested in the sciences, I changed my major to Economics and Mathematics sophomore year, picked up a minor in Business Finance, and got heavily involved on campus (Marshall Case Team, Los Angeles Community Impact (LACI) consulting, and Delta Sigma Pi. Going to be working full-time in investment banking in Los Angeles at bulge bracket, although many professors have encouraged me to pursue a graduate degree in mathematics.

Feel free to ask more about courses I took in high school, SAT stats, extracurriculars, competiveness of the program, transition to college, etc.

And for those unaware, the Resident Honors Program is a highly selective program (5% acceptance rate) that allows junior high school students to complete their senior year of HS and freshman year of college concurrently. So I effectively skipped my senior year of HS.

Thank you for sharing your journey! Great to see posts like these !!

which ibank specifically?

^^^uh, that’s crossing the line of personal info.

Hey there! Just a general question: what was it like taking both FSH and TO? Was the workload heavy/did doing both leave free time for extracurricular activities and social life? Thanks!
