<p>Anyone who doesn't think wealth is a big factor in getting a student into top colleges should read the Wall Street Journal series last year. A real eye-opener. They chronicled the number of B students with 1250 SAT's who got into a top school because they were "development" admits. That meant that they either came from a family that could in the future give lots of money, or could raise significant sums from their friends and relatives. It was very depressing.</p>
