I also felt like last night was a quick episode. It’s been many years since we have watched AR. I really like all the teams. I loved Sheri and I just looked at her face at the end when Akbar was going on and was thinking she’s probably saying in her head, “we didn’t lose when I did the road blocks.”
For some reason the boys thought that the temp couldn’t go above 85 so they kept turning it down. The rest just let it curdle.
Arun & his daughter have the worst navigation skills. The rate at which they’re going they’ll probably finish just in time for the start of the next season.
The canyoneering might be the most fun thing I’ve ever seen on TAR. I would love to do that stretch they did.
That was pretty cool. Seemed that the water was VERY cold. But the air warm as they were dressed lightly for the other tasks. I would like the mini version of that task!!!
I feel like both Shari and Akbar and when it’s their time (assuming) Arun and daughter cannot complain about their time on the show. Both have had a lot of struggles but managed to be able to do several legs of the race.
Funniest part was when Raquel and Cayla were mocking Dusty and Ryan’s need to take off their shirts and show their muscles at the pit stop. It looked like they were laughing along with the greeter while Phil talked. I love when they leave stuff like that in. Like the week before when Lulu or Lala was talking about the guy in the bakery?'s eyes and they put a headshot of him in the corner of the screen. I kind of of figured Sheri and Akbar would go out on Akbar’s fault. They were building to that through the previous episodes. And to make him seem even worse, she was so nice about it. I was impressed with Arun doing the water course challenge. He’s fine if there’s someone to tell him exactly where to go. Next week - return of an eating challenge that will probably make me gag watching it.
I agree that Akbar’s “edit” seemed to be leading up to what happened this week.
I have never watched Amazing Race before but am watching it this season because the Holderness couple announced they were on it. I’m loving it. My husband and I are watching it together each week. What a fun show!
Do you have a link to Penn and Kim’s vlog? Thanks!
Arun is apparently a decent athlete/runner.
And here’s the more general link (to find past vlogs):
Was painful to see the boys struggle with the cheese challenge. When I saw that the next activity was a very physical one, I figured they’d be able to catch up with some luck. Not sorry to see Akbar and Sheri go - all he did was complain and moan (at least that’s what it looked like thanks to the edit!). And I didn’t think they were in any shape to undertake this race in the first place.
The father/daughter team survived! And how much of that was attributed to them not driving themselves this leg ?
According to the Penn and Kim episode, Akbar has very bad knees, he and Sheri were super busy during the Covid break and didn’t really have much opportunity to train, he’s written a book that should be out soon. I see their AR appearance as possibly a bit of wanting the publicity of being on AR for their other ventures, which seem to include solid efforts to help the kids of their community. I’m not sure how much the edit they got will impact that, probably won’t hurt it too much.
Everyone must be watching the Olympics!
Just watched this week. Spoilers for this episode below.
The cheese ….!!!
The views. It’s so gorgeous!
I think this routine of having teams leave at the same time is going to result in more teams - at least the teams in the first leaving time - to work together.
I can’t believe Penn got the net repair - it looked hard!!! Also he and Kim - their physical training has really laid off.
And Arun and Natalie live to run another leg!!!
We had TAR on the TV and the Olympics on the computer
I watched Jeopardy college championships, then TAR, THEN the Olympics.
I don’t like cheese to begin with, but maggot cheese??? Blech.
It was interesting that two sets of two teams worked together, and the 2 bros (don’t know their names) were on their own. We enjoyed the teamwork—it gave off a sort of “Great British Bake Off” vibe----competitors but still good human beings, not cutthroats.
Definitely enjoying the camaraderie among the group this season. A welcome change from the behavior of some teams last season.
Agree, but I wouldn’t put it past “the bros” to pull off something within-the-rules but distasteful. They are just SO competitive.
We shall see.
With the # of teams reduced by the COVID resumption, I wonder if we will see 1-2 more non-elimination rounds than normal, to extend the length of the season.
