I just watched Penn and Kim’s vlog about last night’s episode. At the end, they have the other racers join them to discuss the race. Some people still don’t present well . . .
I’m not so sure. I’m reading the official rules on TAR wiki page -it’s actually the second bullet point: * Teams are required to purchase only economy class airfare when they fly, and use the credit card provided by the show. The airline may upgrade the team(s) to business class, as long as there is not additional cost. Teams, however, can use the cash stipend they are given for first-class fares for other modes of transportation. Teams may be forbidden to fly on certain airlines, restricted to specific airlines, or restricted to another form of transit in certain countries. (Rules and Penalties | The Amazing Race Wiki | Fandom)
It’s a wiki. With a dead source link no less. Not the TAR official rules.
I’m not denying that that was the case in Season 1 - just that it’s not the case now.
Can you find the official rules? I’ve honestly always thought the contestants had to book/buy their flights.
I don’t believe that any official rules have ever been published. The wiki also does not mention the limit on the number of roadblocks a team member may perform, although it’s generally accepted such a limit exists.
Even official announcements don’t seem to be accurate. Per the CBS website, contestants need to be US citizens; Caro holds a German passport.

The question of flights has been bandied about on other sites, e.g.
Leo Brown from S32 mentioned in a podcast that they had to book their own flights for a be leg, but for the rest, the producers booked.
Just watched the podcast. The general consensus seemed to be that Akbar is a good guy whose edit isn’t the most flattering. Lala and Lulu are receiving a good edit but they seem more stressed than others about what might be shown.
Previously they mentioned that several of the teams had appeared on Ellen. Other than Michael & Moe and Sheri & Akbar, who else was on Ellen? Akbar said something like “You can’t love me on Ellen but hate me on the Amazing Race.”
Thank you for the links.

Getting real tired of seeing the father/daughter team get lost again. Seriously? No shocker if they are the ones to go next week.
Also really tired of Akbar and Sheri. So far, all he has done is complain.
Loved the scenery. No way could I do that bungee jump! But somehow, something seems to be missing this season…
It isn’t as exciting when they are driving themselves. They also aren’t interacting with locals as much.
I kind of like when they’re driving themselves because there’s more chance for royal screwups. Leaves less up to chance of getting a bad cabbie.
While they are terrible drivers, I like the father/daughter team - especially him! Dude is also actually in great shape TO DO the race!
It’s a hard NO for me and bungee jumping. I too was so tense at home watching. I could also NEVER look over the side at my partner jumping. There is no part of that challenge that I could live through - not for ANY amount of $$!
Clearly the twins edit has changed or they really had a change of heart/personality change over the 19 month break. Their edit initially had them bickering - now they seem much more chill.
Yeah Mr. Athlete needs to start using the term “PAST ATHLETES”. His behavior is not ok as far as I’m concerned but you know, some relationships are built that way and survive.
LOL that the dad/daughter were so late the hosting country guest had to leave!!
The bungee jumping - not something I could ever do, for many reasons. And each time I could feel the pull on my feet, back, neck watching as they bounced there. On the Holderness podcast Kim said she hurt from it for a while afterward. Also said the Sheri forgot the instructions to pull into a sitting position so that they could be pulled up and dangled there for a while until she remembered. Which would totally be me also.
I don’t see how Arun and Natalia can’t be eliminated next. Unless there’s no driving anywhere in the next leg. I really like Raquel and Cayla. And Lulu and Lala are growing on me.
I was pretty neutral on them, but it was touching how they channeled their grandma (or maybe mom?) for the sausage making challenge.
The idea that I would have to follow ANY instructions responsible for getting me from not dangling is mind blowing to me. Did that take a lot of strength? It must not of but it sounds very difficult while upside down!!
Kim said you had to use core muscles to sit up. So basically I wouldn’t have been able to do it and would have dangled there forever.
And apparently Sheri forgot she needed to sit up and signal so she was left dangling for longer.
The boys really turned it up when they needed to. I don’t know how they messed up on the cheese so bad.
I liked this last episode - spoiler: I’m relieved that Akbar & Sherry were eliminated - I couldn’t bear to listen to him berate her much longer, and I think he proved he was not in any better shape/condition to compete than she was!
Kim and Penn are such a pleasure to watch!
It seemed like a quick episode but also tough to think you were heading to the pit stop but actually still had to blow up a kayak and kayak to Phil!!
