Survivor at 90 minutes seems drawn out, especially if the challenge is not very interesting like last week. So far TAR episodes have not seemed like filler to me. That may change as the number of teams are reduced.
Uh interesting!
For me, any puzzle/athletic challenge is a âfillerâ , where I basically tend to âtune outâ, other than to see who might have put a target on their back for not pulling their weight.
I pretty much get engaged during all the (inter)action between the challenges.
That is interesting. I like the challenges, especially to see who takes charge and who is skilled at which activity. I like some of the interaction and discussion, but find it a bit repetitive with the 90 minute format.
Do you know why they held it until after the current one?
I saw this: Notably, the season airing as 36 was actually the 35th season of The Amazing Race filmed. After the season was in the can, CBS had reached out to production to inform them of the upcoming shift to 90-minutes. As such, the producers planned a season around the new timeframe. That season was then bumped up to be the aired season 35, and this was swapped to become season 36. https://parade.com/tv/amazing-race-season-36
Seems like the strike led to the 90 minute episodes (network has more time to fill up with no new scripted shows).
Interestng. I guess that means they edited the first filmed one and will now have to re-edit to make it longer whereas this one hadnât been edited yet. I feel sorry for the winner of that one having to keep it a secret that much longer.
The IRS knew early?
I donât think they did. The winners donât get the prize until the episode airs.
I donât feel one bit sorry for them. After all, they won a million dollars.
I remember seeing this. Interesting that it was easier to film a new season knowing that episodes were 90 minutes long rather than re-editing the already filmed original Season 35.
Without giving spoilers, according to some of the other sites, CBS felt that the season in the can was weak.
I was at the eye doctor yesterday and was laughing thinking about this thread. she was saying âLook up and left, down and leftâŠâ but she was correctly doing MY left and right, which was the opposite of hers.
I complimented her on her skills.
Give me 90 min Survivor episodes ANY day! - love the extra time!
What a beautiful country and Leighâs attitude was so grating.
Yes! We had no idea.
My wife booked us a trip right after we finished the episode
Steve and Anna Leigh deserved to go, after all their mistakes and bad decisions. Too bad they didnât.
I canât believe she made her dad walk up the 1,000 steps for nothing. They only survived because the sisters are directionally challenged when it comes to driving.
Good episode. I cannot believe that Steve and AL thought the Express Pass was still up for grabs knowing they were last. I wonder how she feels watching it all back. I always appreciate the teams that know they are likely going and yet appreciate the wonders and opportunities they had on the race.
Not sure how the sisters got so far behind. But lucky for Steve and AL.
Beautiful country indeed. The glider challenge seemed so cool. Love the way Corey was genuinely happy for his dad to do the challenge, even though he really wanted to do it.
Same. Particularly after seeing the stairs.
I felt really bad for him. That, and then 10 floors of spiral stairs!
Hubris!
They have such an amazing father-son relationship! So much love.
Fun episode. Beautiful country! So many steps!! Steve and Anna Leigh made so many mistakes!!
