Amazon HQ2 in the Southside?

One of the proposed locations that Chicago is suggesting is the area west of Burnham Park in Bronzeville. Potential benefits to UChicago in terms of partnerships, funding, employment/internships, safety, funding for facilities in the south side.

(Note: I heard University of Washington and its business school is experiencing historically high yield and low acceptance rate – and its all because of Amazon, is what they say.)

And Amazon gets to have access to the lakefront, good schools (IIT, UI-C, UChicago), the of course the city itself… the only city outside of the east and west coasts, that is never considered a flyover city, a big city near the middle of US/Canada landmass that is ideal for a supply chain operation + plus a massive airport/train hub. A lot of cheap land in the suburbs and in Indiana for robot-manned warehouses. A lot of cold winter air for robot-manned server farms in the prairie.

Well FStratford I’d bet that the Southside will make the top 100 of the 268 or locations which submitted proposals.

lol.

Its a lottery, with better odds than a pick 5

Since the city of Chicago is known for wheeling and dealing and all that stuff… it could get it. It wont be the first time Chicago took in a F100 from Seattle.

LOL Twin Cities in the running as well. Thought I read the number of regions was 65, not 268 but someone might have more accurate/current info.
