According to Amazon’s website, winners will be notified sometime in May.
So, has any semifinalists heard anything as of today.
My semifinalist has not heard anything.
I waited last year and then I got the sad news I was not selected. I thought things would be different this year, since they had so much trouble last year.
I haven’t received any news as of yet either. I wish that they had more thoroughly scrutinized the information they have released given the multiple discrepancies between the information on the application portal and the amazon website, not to mention the conflicting emails regarding an applicant’s semifinalist status. Ah well, I guess we can do nothing but wait patiently. Hopefully the decisions will be released sometime this week.
Received email around 1:50 stating applications are still being reviewed and we will be notified as early as May 16th.

@graceunworthy I believe this email went out to those still in the running for the scholarship - my scholar was notified on 1/29/16 that they were a semi-finalist and rec’d another email today with the May 16th date as someone else posted above. If you didn’t hear anything back in January I think it is safe to assume you are out of the running for this scholarship. Make sure you check your spam filter just in case it got caught there.
This may sound weird and hilarious but, I got the email in january saying I did not meet the reqiurements as a semi finalist and I sent them another email saying I believe I met the reqiurements and they should rereview my application. I dont really know what came over me. Thinking about it now, I think its one of the craziest things ive ever done. So, imagine my suprise when I got the email today. They probably sent it to everyone.
I agree with what the person above is saying. I got a mail earlier this year saying that I did not make it to the next round and got the email. Lol…No hopes. I didn’t reply to them or anything like that.

I also got the email earlier this week that said decisions would be out by the 16th, and got the email today that I was selected!
“We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected as a recipient of an Amazon Student Scholarship Program award in the amount of $5,000! You will also receive a promotional code worth $500 to purchase textbooks at Amazon.com Please let us know if you intend to accept or decline your award by following the steps below to complete the award acceptance process no later than May 27, 2016.”
@graceunworthy , I got an email this week, but it saif that I will be notified by the 16th which is really weird since I have already been notified that I did not make it to the next round in the beginning of the year lol.

@NJRoadie thank you! I’m a transfer student, wrote my essay on my job of developing an office program for my dance studio. College transfer GPA 3.6, HS 4. something I don’t even remember, any other info you want?
On my portal it now shows the option to complete the acceptance forms. It didn’t give any info about other recipients/applicants.
