Aren't you a 10th grader? wouldn't that put you t-6th in CA for AMC 12B?

Who's that 7th grader that got 138? Damn

Shoot other people qualified in my state. There goes my usamo qualification.

At least I get a plaque saying I was the state winner for the 12a (solid 100.5).

Next year will be sweet though. Just me and this other kid. Mono a mono. And I'll have actually read aops 1 and 2. I don't think anyone will catch us from behind. Too big of a gap hopefully.

awesome i did better than i thought compared to others.

1st place amc12 KS + Region 5.

woo i won texas on the 12a
and then the prodigy 8th grader won texas on the 12b (150 =O)

how do you know the regions?

in montana, out of the 1397 students who took amc 10/12 A, 1 qualified for aime. hahahaha

Was the Amc 10 really easy this year? Scores seem high.

Hmm Montana does have 3 qualifiers on the 12b though. The smart kids probably took the second version

The AMC 10 was really easy this year, finished it in about 50 minutes and got a perfect....
And ThisCouldBeHeaven, yeah, you're right, I messed up reading that chart...epic fail =(

No wonder the amc 10 scores are so high. I scored less than 90 last year and that won state. All these kids breaking 100 is ridiculus. If I was a sophmore I'd have gone 130. ****

How's this year's AIME compare to 2008 and 2007 respectively? I heard my friend said that the first 4 problems are kinda easy...

Personally, I thought 2007 and 2008 were much easier than today.

I thought #13 was pretty easy, oddly enough. That was the fastest one I solved.

...... if so the USAMO index will probably be divided into 10 and 12 index since there were really a huge difference between them...

or they can just use a high floor score on the aime to exclude many top amc scorers...

Today, I made four careless calculation errors on the AIME, bringing my score from an 8, which would have been a personal record, down to a 4. FML

2nd in Ohio. If only I could have added correctly on #24...

So... Answers?

I got 2 correct on the aime

On the AoPS site it says not to discuss AIME till March 23.

DataBox - what do you get as a state winner of AMC? Certificate, plaque, money (wishful thinking here ):)

correct me if i am wrong but my teacher told me that if youhave a 8 in usamo you will most def. pass. I was surprised and asked him how come, so he explained. He told me that of the 500 ppl that go tot the Usamo about 350 of them qualify bc they have the index needed. That varies from 205 to 215.And then they get the person of those 350 ppl that has the lower aime score which is 7 or 8 and they pass everyone that has that score on the Aime regardless of their Amc score. So if you have a 100 AMC and a 8 Aime you qualify for Usamo!

Am i mistaken?I just want to add that never has a kid from my school qualified to the Usamo so perhaps my teacher was wrong due to his lack of experiece.
