Because it's luck of the draw. And I guess this year they had absolutely no luck.

Just a very poorly played game. A lack of ball skills from players whom normally have a better touch on the ball (beasley). Several players ended up out of position and effectiveness by the lineup.

I put some blame on the coach, you put your players where they will do their best, not in poisitions they "should" be able to play. Donovan is not a forward, he does not play well up front, midfield "Yes", Attacking mid, withdrawn forward "yes". Beasley left footed, no confidence at all from the right side.

What Arena wanted is not what he had, he should have recognized this prior to KO. Square pegs into round holes.

The main thing is they lack creativity though. Donovan's spark may be impressive by MLS standards, but when you put him up against the likes of Nedved and (arggg nooo) Totti in our group then he just looks dull. And without creativity we have no chance because every other team is physically as fit as us and has more talented playas. darn nammit

These exist: on www.efaf.info the websites for many European countries' AF associations are linked there. Such groups also exist at the high school, collegiate, and professional (company-sponsored in a similar fashion to baseball) in Japan, and in South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand such football groups also exist at various levels. In Brazil there are amateurs who play said game on a 100-yard stretch of beach in Ipanema for their championship.
