The soccer team, I mean, the country is cool.

Arggggggggg I stopped watching after the third goal. They have no creativity, no crossing talent, a porous defence and a painful lack of finishing ability. After that performance I honestly can't see them making it out of the group, let alone to the quarter finals.

I'm an AMERICAN LIVING IN ENGLAND!!!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS FOR ME?!?!?!? I will be ridiculed by my entire school!!!!! Our football team is an insult to America. What would our forefathers say?

We watched it in class, and we all cheered for the US, even though we knew that we were losing. It was sad.
Oh and its not ur fualt the team sucks, why would they ridicule you? Eh

I don't think any England fan will be crowing too much. They kinda laid an egg out there as well. They just happened to win.

The game was a disapointment for sure, but they still are in until the second game is played. A win, they're back on track controling their own fate going into the third game. A tie, they'll need help. A loss, play the future.

The US had their chances, they have others, let's wait till Sunday to decide their fate.

Soccer as never been as big in the US as it is in other countries. In most of America's high schools you determine how great your school is by the football or basketball team's record. Sports such as soccer and tennis aren't a big deal in American schools. My school went on to state in tennis but no one even knew. My school went to play in a big national tournament the year before down at the Savis Center(where the Blues play hockey) and everyone took 3 buses downtown to watch them play. Then on top of it we were given all given the same t-shirt in support of the team. We ended up winning and no one could stop talking about the game. It was published all over the yearbook, school newspaper and even the St. Louis newspaper.

At least Americans can beat the English at every other sport (except cricket and rugby). And England's not even that good at soccer. They won one World Cup, and a highly controversial one at that. And La Liga is better than the Premiership.

LOL, can you imagine a British football (American) team?

And why were they placed in such a difficult group?

It's random. There was a group drawing on tv a few months ago. They just draw country names for each group. They just hit the bad luck of being in one of the really bad groups.

I know how it's picked, I meant it as more of a "why couldn't they have been randomly put into an easier group like last year?".

"If America has lost by 3 gols to a weak team there is no way they will win against Italy."

That weak team also happens to be ranked by Fifa as the #2 team in the WORLD. Aside from that after the match Arena and Reyna both called the Czechs the strongest team in the group..
