Okay so a friend of my mom has a kid who's like 3 or 4 years older than me and he's been hopping between schools and majors ever since he got out of high school (smart guy, just totally unfocused from what i can tell). I talked to him in December at a Christmas party and told him I was thinking about NYU. He said he'd wanted to go there for drama but his parents hadn't wanted him to.

Well, ever since then, his mom and my mom have been emailing and she's been saying he's trying to transfer to NYU. My mom emailed her yesterday to tell her I got in, and she writes back saying her son is still waiting to hear from AADA, and what is Tisch? My mother of course is like what on earth is AADA, Tisch is the arts school at NYU. So this lady writes back and says AADA is the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, it is not part of Tisch (which she has never heard of), and that it is "affiliated with NYU and about ten blocks from the NYU campus," as well as that her son will live on campus if he gets in. Oh, and that he's going to get his MBA at NYU (which I'm also really confused about because he doesn't even have an undergraduate degree....).

Now, I looked up this AADA and it looks like a truly amazing acting school, but I've never heard of it before (I'm sure if I was going to be a drama major I would have), and can't find anything to suggest it's part of/affiliated withatlantic ny NYU! Sorry this was a long post, but can someone just confirm that I'm not going crazy?? I mean...I know that there are certain studios (i.e. Cap21, Stella Adler, etc.) associated with NYU but I've never heard of this...

Anyone have any clue? =/
