I took a flight by American Airlines, I flipped around the in flight magazine and saw a big article about “The most accomplished Plastic Surgeons voted by the Peers”. In that almost 20 pages article, I was surprised to find out, among mostly MDs, there are 2 DOs and 1 DDS. The DDS is listed under “facial reconstruction” and I cannot remember where the DOs were listed. Anyhow, I think the gap between MDs and DOs are closing even before the recent merge of residencies.
That “big article” you read was a paid advertisement. The physicians listed as “Top Doctors” all paid large fees to be featured in that magazine.
Yes it is misleading at best.
