<p>“The American Council of Learned Societies has awarded fellowships to four Princeton faculty members and one graduate student to support their research in the humanities and humanities-related social sciences.</p>

<p>“This year the council provided fellowships totaling more than $5.5 million to more than 200 scholars.</p>

<p>Among the schools most heavily represented are:</p>

<p>U. of Chicago (6 scholars)
Princeton (5 scholars)
Harvard (5 scholars)
Yale (4 scholars )
Stanford (4 scholars)
Rutgers (4 scholars)
Rice (3 scholars)
Berkeley (3 scholars)</p>

<p>The awards are given each year to promising faculty members and advanced graduate students. (The above list is certainly not complete and there may be other schools with a significant number of awards.)</p>
