American Mathematics Contest 12

umm i think to get a 130+ on AMC 12 this year (especially since its 75 minutes) was a lot harder than to get 8+ on AIME (from what ive heard and read on these forums/AoPS), but to pass its not that hard (usually the first 15 or so questions are trivial)

umm az, i guess it helps...
you should also try to take classes if you really want to pass or something...
with a combination of the books + some math class i take (not online) i manage to make USAMO this year...

^Thanks. I'm not really concerned with getting as far as you did, I'm more concerned with getting a 100+ on the amc 12 and maybe a good score on the AIME. What math classes did you take?

bumperoooooo

bumppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp

yeah i went in with no knowledge of the amc and the type of problems. heck i did not even know we can't use calculators until the test. I gto like a 85 which is not great but if i had gotten 3 more right i would have passed. I am sure if i had done some practice i prolly coulda gotten 2-3 more right.
I got 770 SAT math (-1 q) and 5 on ap calc ab soph year.

I got a 740 math (-2) and am taking ab calc next year,

bumppppppppppppppppppppppp

I thought the AMC12 was a lot harder this year lol. But I think it's just because they made it all non calc.

Idk, I took it last year and this year and it was a lot harder for me this year i think.

-=-=-=-=-bump=-=--=-=-=

What are the benefits of passing?
