So I just found out it has a religious affiliation. I’m not religious at all and avoided adding several schools I like to my college list because they had an official religious affiliation. However, I heard that religious really doesn’t play much of a role at American University? Is this true? Is the academic curriculum secular?
From what I know the curriculum is secular, completely separate from the religious affiliation. There is a spiritual center on campus but is serves many faiths and is often used as a forum for discussions. So religion only plays as much of a role as you let it .
AU’s affiliation with the Methodist church is much like the human appendix–a historic artifact with no obvious or known use, purpose, or influence and little respect or recognition.
