American University vs. other schools (TCNJ, etc.) for communications?

Hi all, posting this on behalf of my sister.

She was accepted to American a week or so go, but has not yet made a decision on whether she’ll go.

She’s mostly stuck between Quinnipiac, Marist, TCNJ, & American, with American being her top choice.

The problem is, American gave no aid (so $60k+/yr) whereas the others gave her merit (would cost around $30-33k for the other schools).

Also, she has ADD & narcolepsy, which is another factor in where she may go to school. She needs a good support system due to her 504/learning disabilities.

At American she would need to double major for communications (it is required), and she is struggles to finish high school work in a timely manner due to her narcolepsy. It can take her 6 hours to finish homework that for most students would have taken only 1-2hrs at most.

My question is, is American’s cost worth it? Can she succeed/find support for her learning disabilities there?

Or would she be better off going to one of the other aforementioned schools for communications?

You don’t say your home state. I wouldn’t pay Americans cost if you are in state for TCNJ. It’s a great school, small class sizes so lots of personal attention.

Oh sorry! Yup, she is in state for TCNJ. Definitely a good value school, and she did tell me that she is going to look into the communications program there some more. Thank you for the advice ?
