^ I used to live in England and I can safely say that I don’t ever remember sitting on an even close to empty bus. Neither during rush hour nor during pretty much any part of the day. Every time I’ve gone back to visit has been the same way.

“AMERICANS THINK THEY ARE THE BEST” … because they are!
“(especially white Americans)” … weren’t you the same guy that posted about wanting to get with hot WHITE chicks?

'NUFF SAID :D

Living in America is amazing*!

*Unless you are African American, poor, homosexual, lack health insurance, or a poor African American homosexual who lacks health insurance.

yeah, affirmative action, welfare, gay marriage, medicaid and all that must be terrible

The middle class small business owners don’t qualify for medicaid and still can’t afford health insurance. Which makes paying for college a *****.

Same-sex marriage isn’t legal… just would like to point that out.
And I don’t qualify for medicaid, and yet can’t get health insurance because of preexisting conditions. Lovely little gray area I live in, don’t ya think?

The President would beg to differ.

Make new friends but keep the old. One is America the other’s gold.

america is gold. as in the best. as in number one.

on a more serious note, if you’re not completely independent of your parents, you probably qualify for SCHIP, check it out. The colleges I toured actually forced students to get SCHIP if they didn’t have health insurance.

^ You avoided the same-sex marriage…

I am not completely independent of my parents. Technically I have coverage, but it doesn’t cover anything I need it to because all of my serious illnesses are preexisting. I technically have health insurance, but it doesn’t do me any good.

And if America were the best, we would have the best health care in the world (no, I’m not just talking about insurance). We do not.

Yes, those institutions are in place to diminish some of the discrepancies between members of different ethnicities, sexual orientation, etc. but they are a far cry from a national panacea. Racism still exists in the workforce (and outside of it), gay people can only be married in about 6 states and people still live without medical care.

Surely you don’t believe that the state of all black Americans has changed just because a member of the minority is our current commander-in-chief.

Guys, racism is over. Slavery was abolished 140+ years ago, and last racist laws were struck down in late 60’s. Virtually 100% of American-born students here in CC were born free of every “separate but equal” ridiculous laws for good!

Let’s get over it, racism should be mostly a history subject.

As for gay marriage, that is just crappy ‘I’m entitled’ policy. There’s no reason to poison the basic social fabric collective institute (heterossexual monogamic family) with cry-me-an-ocean pleas from people who happen to practice sex in different ways.

Health-care is really an issue. That’s a major concern if I ever decide to relocate permanently in US. I’ll probable keep paying fees in Italy to have health assistance there should anything more serious happen.

Europeans think Americans are best at everything?

Racism is most certainly NOT over. And did you seriously just write off gay marriage? It’s the same thing as racism. People being discriminated against for who they are.

Yep, racism is far from over. Just look at affirmative action, for example.

Damn those white women!

^They are the devil (collectively, of course. Not any that I’m actively dating…)

It depends on the European. I certainly preffer our health-care system and our legal system. And, of course, Italian cuisine which you’ll never match btw. Otherwise, America is better for jobs, career, individualism, housing, transportation and immigration. It’s my opinion, and that’s why I plan to settle in America soon.

You’re absolutely right! We should go back to a time when couples of different ethnicities weren’t allowed to marry. Better yet! Let’s go back to a time when women didn’t have a say in their marriage, they were simply given to the highest bidder with no concern for their well-being!

People like you literally make me sick.

Just take the civil unions with benefits and don’t call it marriage. Problem solved.
