Worst Christian School: Liberty University"

Uh, are you kidding me? Apparently these people have never heard of Pensacola Christian College or Bob Jones University…

Worst" in what way? Yeah, the rules they have are far past ridiculous, but if they are respectable in providing an education couldn’t we allow these to be funny quirks that so many colleges have?
I can sense the comeback coming…how could they provide such an education with the close-mindedness and bigotry we know them to have? Well, to tackle the tougher issues first, a lot of literature and history can be appreciated without making it focused on sex, gender, and racism.

I think you’ve mistaken me for a liberal… I would say that they’re both “bad” colleges because neither of those schools are accredited… making a degree in anything but church related fields relatively worthless. My old youth pastor and his wife went to Bob Jones, and his wife can’t get a job doing anything because her degree is not recognized. If you want to get an education, it may not be one of the worst places to go. But if you want to do something with that education, it is one of the worst places to go. I lived in Pensacola for about four years (in fact I have a few friends who are attending PCC), and I’ve seen their bigotry firsthand. A college should be a place of learning… PCC is a college of indoctrination. If they want to teach what they do, then that’s fine. They have a right too. But they won’t get any respect from me.

It is still not clear why people buy into ratings (of any sort). They are always criteria dependent, yet people treat them as if they were the gospel and get into these great debates which in the end prove nothing. Mostly, ratings should be viewed as entertainment. fencersmother has the correct attitude, why not do worst of all possibilities or any other grouping. It is meaningless in the end and simply provides material for authors who provide us books of lists.

Personally, I’m getting really sick & tired of some CC posters’ all-too-frequent practice of school bashing.

Somebody here goes to those schools. People reading this have kids and grandkids who go to those schools.

Maybe somebody else posted something nasty somewhere else, and you said “hey, my daughter goes to that school.”

Really, what’s the point? To make people feel like crap? Perhaps this one was done tongue in cheek, but there are too many threads that do this kind of thing.

The only point of these so called rankings is to sell magazines and start a huge argument. They are inane and pointless. They are superficial and sadistic.

“Ugliest students: Cleveland State U”
I took dual enrollment classes there… there are attractive students there. Yes, there are ugly students… but you can find lots of ugly students at Northwestern, UCLA, USC, Harvard… basically anywhere

My pick for the worst Ivy would not be Cornell… my sister went there and has a really amazing job now. All of her college friends are extremely successful now.
I suppose there’s not a lot to do in Ithaca, and it’s really cold there, so that’s probably why they picked it
