Even though you might not be proud of yourself, @Worried, I’m proud of you for making the wait list. (:

Rejected. Congrats dcsmiss!

Rejected too! That’s great dcsmiss, is it your first option? @Worried, I hope you get in, for all of us!!

Thanks Alyssa. I hope so too Askatasuna. It’s time to keep waiting.

I got in for Spring 2013…not sure how to feel right now…

Maybe you should call and ask? Haha that’s weird but congratulations!

Haha thanks. They said they couldn’t admit me because of space concerns or something lol…I really wanna get out of my current university lol…I don’t know what to do for Fall…

I’ve never heard of that happening o.o

Good luck! I guess go to the same place for another semester

Ya I hope this isn’t some goof or anything o.O I know Brown did this but I had no idea Amherst did it too…

Ya. I took a nap today so I hope this isn’t a dream…hmm…:)

Lol I saved the letter just in case…

Thanks all, it looks like it was particularly tight this year. When admissions rates are this low, it is a crapshoot (or should I say serendipity, so as not to tarnish my monocle).

@Askatasuna: Yes, this has been my top pick since I started this process in October. I have external pressures directing me in Dartmouth’s direction, so I do not yet know what my ultimate decision will be.

Out of curiosity–how old are you dcsmiss?

@jyoungs: I am 22. Why do you ask?

Wanted to get a sense of the age range of the admits.

Do your letters say March 30, 2012 as well (on the top)? lol

Yes. I thought was weird too. Do you think they decided these a while ago or just used the same template

I think they used the same template as Freshman admissions. There’s just no way they decided in 30 days (since March 1st was the admission deadline) and decided to torture us for 6 weeks lol

Hey all, I’m new to this forum, but I just got the word that I’ve been wait-listed as well, so I thought I’d update with you all. I guess it’s nice they didn’t reject me outright! I’ll take it. (My other main contenders where I’ve been accepted are UCLA, UC Berkeley, and Columbia GS.)

My stats: 3.87 GPA at my current community college (90 units, and the two Bs were from 3 years ago) and 3.7 overall GPA if you include courses I took several years ago at other schools. I’ve done a lot of volunteer work and several long-term internships, member of honors program, PTK, etc. I’m 21, and I dropped out of high school after my sophomore year, so I’m a nontraditional student as well (3.5 high school GPA, never took the SATs.)

Congratulations to the people who got in!! Are you going?

It was a difficult decision, but I have decided to go to Amherst this fall. I hope to see you all there!

still waitin’…

@WorriedAlways:
The deadline to notify for transfers was May 23rd, so presumably they are moving on to the wait list presently.
If you have not already, I suggest that you call and inquire so as to demonstrate continued interest. In addition, send Amherst an update, including any new information regarding academics, extra-curricular, etc.
