Amherst College with a 1280!!!!!!!!!!

got into amherst college with a 1280 on my SATs...all nerds can officially suck it

yarrrg dont be bitter everyone...just cuz u guys did work in high school and i didnt

lol - good job.

haha good job my man. I hope it works out for me too at cornell

lol, you must have had something we hope Amherst won't regret. It's really mean to let others think this is likely to happen for them, which given published data, is not the case.

And why is it this only seems to happen to "new members"?

about 200 hours community service
played football for a couple years
varsity lacrosse for 4 years, captain elect this year
joined a couple clubs like history club and science club
member of NHS
got undergrad history and bio award
Scholar athlete award for 2 years

excellent extracirriculars

plus your essay was probably good, and your recs too

hahaha yes! dude i have so much respect for you, im so sick of hearing sum of these nerds tell people like us with our SAT scores (i got the same as u on the SAT) that we wont get into top notch schools.

HELL YES AJH33!

Girl in my school got in with an 1160 this year. Crazy stuff.

I don't see how a low SAT score means you didn't work lol. What was the hook? Are you an athlete?

Congratulations! I'm hoping to get into Williams :).

the thing is, peopel with low SATs seem to have low EC's and lack of involvement in the community as well.

uh see thats wut ****es me off a 1280 isnt low and thats not the case at all either robot.

I have a "low" SAT score but ECs that are better than any1s ive seen on this site yet

Hmmm...You got in ED? ED2? Get a "likely letter"? When did Amherst admit you?

"the thing is, peopel with low SATs seem to have low EC's and lack of involvement in the community as well."

What the hell? What does a standardized test have to do with EC's and community service? Do you have any statistical proof for this assertion?

yea seriously, this is the type of person that the OP is talking about

and you too amptron...admissions isnt only about test scores

Amherst RD acceptances are mailed on or around 4/1. ajh33 did not get an acceptance letter. So, unless he got a "likely letter", he's lying.

By the way, click on his name and check his other posts. Not once in any of the Chances threads he started, except this one, did he mention Amherst.

so wut....since when is he required to tell you every school he applied to

i didnt mention half the schools i applied to on this site

give credit where its due amptron, dont be bitter

One more time Doogie -

Amherst doesn't send out RD acceptances until 4/1. Can you explain how ajh found out he was accepted now?

Also, check out the Amherst threads on CC Top Liberal Arts Colleges. Is anybody there posting about being admitted? Seems to me - and I've been on ED threads when the acceptances and rejections were being posted - that if kids where being accepted at Amherst now, they'd be posting by the score.

And excuse me, I'm not bitter at all, and I'm perfectly happy to give credit where credit is due. But given the evidence, there's no credit due here. ajh is just playing troll.

wut evidence?..a friend of mine got into a school today RD where the notification date was 4/1

u dont know wut the circumstances were, nor can YOU prove he is wrong, so give it a rest. You do not know the details of his acceptance or his application, so stop assuming you do.

and ur acting as though he is required to post on that board when he gets in, haha since when is that a requirement...so ONE MORE TIME AMPTRON, give it a rest
