Amherst Confessional

What an evil, evil thing. What do you guys think about some of the complaints on it?

“Amherst Confessional does not take responsibility for the veracity of any of the content posted to this website by its anonymous contributors. The Confessional is not affiliated with Amherst College. The posts on this website represents neither the opinions of the Site’s owners nor that of the College. Don’t believe everything you read.”

yeah, the whole “confessional” fad has sort of run its course at many schools. I’ve seen amherst’s as well as several others and many of them are simply ■■■■■■■ by a few people who are not representative of the school as a whole (or who actually don’t even GO to that school…it’s not that hard to work your way into even a “private” confessional). vile stuff written on any confessional - whether amherst’s or another school’s - should be taken with a healthy, healthy dose of skepticism.

But it looks as though you can only post (and view) “Amherst Confessional” if you have an Amherst edu e-mail address.

[Amherst Confessional](http://amherstconfessional.com/)

I just went to the site, and I’m kind of taken aback. A lot of hateful comments…

“You kids are hilarious?”
That’s ■■■■■-baiting, right there. ;)

I didn’t write that. Also, I love how both sexes consider the other to be “uglier”

You can also access it if you are near the Amherst Wifi network, which covers the entire campus (and somewhat beyond).

Yeah, I’d just avoid them as a rule. Any one you look at, whether it be Juicy Campus, the Amherst, Middlebury, Williams, Moho, Oberlin Confessionals, College Trash Talk…the content is virtually identical. I guess that makes sense though, seeing as this is the internet and websites posted specifically to garner nasty and shocking posts will eventually get some nasty and shocking posts.

An interesting alternative site to look at might be Amherst Scrutiny, which is a website affiliated with the college where students can post reviews of classes and teachers. For anyone interested in checking out certain departments or classes. If you google Amherst Scrutiny it should come up, and it’s open to everyone.

Yeah, once I started to ignore the spam, the site is quite entertaining

it is horrible and does not represent the Amherst community

Seriously, take the Confessional with a grain of salt. Its sole purpose is to entertain. I can say I go on there daily to read the hilarious crap that is posted. It really is a joke. Myself and my friends are guilty of heckling people on there just to get a rise. Granted, a LOT of the rumors are true and people are blatantly racist, sexist, etc., but that is just how people are. Don’t kid yourselves into thinking that just because someone is intelligent, they aren’t pigs.

Brick, I remember reading a post about you and your friends. Something about trees and where the sun don’t shine.

I think you’re kidding? I have no idea what you’re talking about. And I’m the type of person that would own up.
