Amherst in Sciences

How is Amherst in sciences? Specifically, biology and chemistry?

Well, I attended the Diversity Open House and sat in Introduction to Biology, Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Obviously, these are classes Amherst considers "huge." I thought I would see over 150+ people sitting, but there were about 60-80, and the professor knew each of his/her students by name! It was absolutely remarkable in that usually, these intro courses would not have individual attention as other colleges/universities' courses. Let me just add that they just built a new science building, so everything is state-of-the art. The building was really new and great to do research in. Not to mention they actually have many courses in these sciences.

As you can see, that DIVOH really helped me put Amherst as one of my top choices.
