An Awkward, Quiet Guy. Will I fit in staying at Letts Hall?

Hey, I’m a pretty reserved person who prefers the quiet. I’ve heard that the rowdy vs. quiet atmosphere depends entirely on your dorm. I was wondering if Letts Hall was one of the party dorms, or one of the quieter ones? And if it is a party dorm, could I go about requesting a switch?

Letts Hall is home to the students of the Three Year Scholars program & AU Scholars program. I’m sure you will find like-minded individuals in this hall as both of these programs will have students who place a high priority on education. Hopefully, your roommate will be a match for you in terms of studying/quiet hours.

It depends on your floor as they do house certain honor courses in Letts Hall but Letts Hall and Anderson Hall (which are connected) are the freshman dorms and as such are loud and rowdy at certain times. Nothing too obnoxious though and it does get better as the semester moves on and the worst nights are weekend nights. I would not worry about it.

On the topic of fitting in, you will. There are quiet and reserved students on each floor (along with the loud students). It is important to note that the dorms themselves are not party dorms because no parties are held in the dorms. Kickbacks, sure, but parties no. So those who party leave the dorm and come back late at night and go to bed so it is not terrible to live in the dorms. You get use to it.
