An emergency!Someone help me here?About the FERPA question.

For the FERPA,I read so many threads that saying choose not to waive your rights can badly affects college considerations. Is it true?
I chose not to waive my rights. It is after my teacher finishing my reference herself and suggested me to have my rights.I haven't see her reference and didn't say any word to her about my reference. My teacher is a British.I mailed my materials few weeks ago,but when I looked into some of the threads,I got a little bit panic..

I just wanna ask that will the college actually deny you only because you choose the option 'not to waive my rights'..
Thanks

I think my applications should depend on other materials but not only depend on this option, right?

While I too have heard that it is better to waive your rights, it is certainly not a determining factor in your admissions decision. Don’t worry, many people choose not to waive their rights so you are definitely not alone! But if it causes you too much stress, you are always free to email the admissions offices of the colleges you are applying to & explain your situation. They will simply attach your email to your application & it will be read when considering you for admission.

Thank you so much.I just asked my adviser and she said it is alright to choose not to waive rights.
