Fall 2006 Discussion Topic
A highlight of the fall semester will be the University Theatre performance of Arthur Millers adaption of the Henrik Ibsen play, An Enemy of the People. The script and themes from this play will serve as a focus for important presentations and discussions during Orientation week when you will be asked to consider how conflicts, ideas and issues in the play relate to college life and to social interactions in our various communities.

Please share any information about this.

It's a play by an awesome Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. I haven't read this play specifically, but I've read three of his other plays and absolutely loved them. He's great. So basically you'll just read the play and when we get there I guess have discussions about it. Sounds just like my English class. From what I've read about it, it sounds like a great play.

It was also made into a movie by the same name in 1978, starring Steve McQueen.

I hope everyone will come see the play when it is performed on the Mainstage at Wake in late September. They had auditions a couple weeks ago, and my son has a role in it. All the plays they did this past year were excellent, so I'm sure Enemy of the People will be great.

Oh I definitely will. I love seeing plays, especially ones I've read. Ibsen is amazing on stage.
