An Open Letter to the Class of 2016

Today is the beginning of the end. It’s a bittersweet moment. After four long years of high school, today is the day you can point to and say, “wow, it’s almost all over.”

It’s going to be difficult. Long hours of college applications and sometimes it’ll feel like it’s all for naught. But through all the acceptances and unfortunately rejections, we will be there for each other. Your value isn’t determined by a yes or no. One way or another, we’ll all end up at the place that needs us the most. We’ll all do great things.

So just keep that in mind as you stress over apps and decisions. Don’t be mean to anyone. Be genuinely supportive of each other and that good karma will come back around. You’re all awesome human beings. I’ll be with you all through it all, and I can’t wait. Welcome to the end.

Thank you for your wisdom. This is going to be a crazy process. It makes everything feel so real.

thanks for this. I know it’s going to be crazy but it’s helpful to know we’re all in this together. <33

Thanks! Very sweet

Graduation will be another bittersweet moment. Thank you for capturing the unfortunate drama and (fortunate) smiles that will come along with this experience.

Thank you for this! <3

This x10000. In twenty years’ time, it won’t really matter if you were accepted to XYZ school, but the time you spend making memories with your closest friends always will. Realize that while college applications are important, the time you are able to spend with the people around you is limited and to make the most of it while you can.
