And I Return to Prep School Admissions

98beebee, you and CherryRose are both amazing people <3 success is inevitable with you too, and those boarding schools just aren’t able to see that.

As for the writing, I’ve found out that my best writing has come during time when I was very emotional (after a breakup, after a heated discussion with my parents, etc).

Thanks, azpandaman. Wishing you the best! :)

I’ve actually been working on letters to my interviewers… My mother thinks they have the power to make a phone call to the admissions office and, uh, work some magic. They are pretty influential in their respective fields and are active alums, but I personally am just writing because one or two of them have really shown interest in me, and I’ve promised to keep in touch.

So my tentative plan now is to attend public online high school, graduate early, and take a gap year (or two- depends on how fast I can finish). There are a lot of phone calls to make and law-checking to do, but I love to have a plan, so I’m pretty happy right now. By the way, did anybody see DiveAlive’s post on going to Antarctica on scholarship??? Now that’s the kind of thing I want to do- forget about boarding school! :D

Thank you so much, azpandaman!! Antarctica? That’s so cool. Wanderlust is taking over, hahaha. This afternoon, I visited my local public high school. It’s the same as always, but something’s changed… I’m looking forward to attending it so much if I don’t get off a waitlist. The people are friendly, the school is huge, and everything is just humming along. And Cherry, it’s so great that you have a plan! Although I have no experience with online public schools or gap years, the forward thinking is definitely good.
