I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, but:

I'm an 8th grader applying for 9th grade at Andover. I'm on step four of this page: Phillips Academy -

For the Candidate Profile, will not filling in any of the non-required areas hurt my application? Also, should I do steps two and three before four? (Because I haven't)

I have more questions, but I'd rather take this in tiny incrememnts so as not to cause myself headaches. (If the title didn't tip you off, I really don't know what I'm doing and any help would be highly appreciated.)

It would be best to ask your parents to help. If for some reason they can’t, make that clear and you will probably find help in this forum. And no, you don’t have to do steps 2 and 3 before 4, but you do have to do them. You may want to try to learn about other schools as well; there is a lot of information in this forum’s past posts, if you search for it.

One of the earlier steps you mention is the interview request, isn’t it? Have you spoken to your parents about this and planned a visit? This should be a priority because the schedule can get crowded, especially for fridays and saturdays. It does help to interview and see the school, perhaps better before completing the entire application.

No, you don’t have to do step 1 to step 4 in order, but it is to your benefit to do them all in a timely fashion. For example, you should schedule your interview ASAP to have the most available time slots to choose from. You may re-schedule or cancel your appointment later if necessary. As for the Candidate Profile, leaving some non-required fields open shouldn’t hurt as it’s a form supposed to collect basic information about a candidate. It may be used as an interview “cheat sheet” for interviewers, so you should fill in as much as possible.

Definitely sit down with your parents and go over the application together step-by-step. Having your parents help you to make sure you’re completing everything correctly is not cheating and is not the same as having them write your application for you.

Thank you all for your timely help! For the Candidate Profile, I’ve decided to go with ‘More is more.’ The issue with asking my parents is that they don’t technology I’m getting on the interview stick ASAP. I really appreciate your advice.
