Annoying dilemma: Which score to send...

Here are my two ACT test dates:

English 31
Math 34
Reading 27
Science 34

Composite: 32

English 34
Math 32
Reading 30
Science 29

Composite: 31

I would send the 32 without hesitation, but it ticks me off because I did 3 points better on both English and Reading my second time around and got lower scores in the other sections. Duke and Wash U are both like, "we will look for reason to get you in - not to keep you out" and encourage sending all scores. I don't know what to do.

If I "mix-and-match," I have a solid 33 composite. But no one does that. I wonder why.

Send them both. Some schools do mix and match and I think Wash U. does.

I asked Duke earlier and they told me they dont mix and match.. but it came from the same admission officer who told me that ACT doesn't allow score-choice.

I was like, "....yeaah.. it does...."

and he's like, "ummm.. no. i've been an admission officer for five years... yada yada."

I almost just hung up on him. but then later hes like "i'll look into it."

damn right you'll look into it.

I've found adcoms have wrong ideas sometimes about sending scores...it's like they are stupid about things 90% of students know about! :p

ooh yeah i totally agree! sometimes it's so frustrating since they'll be the ones deciding your fate.

Wash U definitely does mix and match.

anywhere else? here are the schools i'm looking at:

duke
washU (YES)
wisconsin (NO)
michigan
penn state
holy cross
syracuse
uconn
umiami
emory

I don't know who does mix and match or not, but send all scores.

really?? wouldn't that just be a waste of money? i think duke said something along the lines of.. them having a computer automatically pick out the best scores...

also, another idea is to retake it in december. late registration. i might be able to get the 33. lol?

You could do that if you were willing to study etc. until dec. Does it cost more to send more ACT scores? CB is almost the opposite (with APs)
