It almost feels like bats have something against us. Cough.
We’re screwed.
They also have or probably were the original hosts of rabies, Ebola, Marburg, SARS, MERS, SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19)…
Except, I love bats! Especially flying foxes.
That said, I am certainly taking to heart warnings that it is likely we will see another pandemic in our lifetimes.
A mammal that can fly. Not too surprising that it’s overrepresented as a disease vector.
Still not as destructive to the living world as a different mammal that had learned to fly…
